About Human Recordings

Human Recordings is an independent record label based in the UK. Our aim is to bring the music of some of the best bands around to your attention. We're sick of hearing bands that just don't make the grade and so our standards are very high - if we don't 100% fall in love with a band's music, we won't sign them. We also make sure that all our releases, from the music to the packaging are of high quality too, because you deserve to get your money's worth when you by a CD.

Because we sign bands based on how good they are, you will find a range of different genres covered in the music we release. Occasionally we have been criticised for this by other people in the industry. However, we feel strongly that finding bands that are good is more important than pigeon-holing ourselves - we don't want to paint ourselves into a corner!

Mainly, this is a company that operates in an attempt to counteract the banality and mediocrity that is often overwhelming. We don't vote for TV pop idols and we don't rate Robbie Williams' song-writing ability.

Human Recordings is run by two men. One is called Andy and one is called Henry. The company was Andy's idea but it took Henry's motivation and money to get it up and running. Both men class London Calling by The Clash as one of their favourite albums.
