FAQ
Can I send you a demo?
Yes, please do. The contact address is here.
We will usually listen to demos within a few days of receiving them. However,
we are busy people and sometimes it takes longer. If we're interested
in your music, we'll contact you. Before you get all excited though, we
won't sign you on the basis of a demo; we need to know that you can hack
it in the studio but we also need to know if you can pull it off live
and most importantly, we need to know if we all see eye to eye. If you
join us we'll all be working closely together, so we have to know that
we like being in your comapny and that you understand the way we work.
What formats do you accept demos in?
Our preference is for CDs but we'll take a mini-disc. We'll consider
looking at a tape but if you can't get your music onto a digital format,
you really should be questioning whether or not you're ready to go professional.
We don't accept MP3's, don't even try.
What do you look for in a band?
No one ever actually asks this question but it's important, so we thought
we'd tell you anyway. Well, there are the obvious things: we need to like
your music and know that you can cut it both in the studio and live. If
these are in place you're off to a good start. This would usually mean
that you've been at it for a while, honing your sound, playing gigs and
getting some fans (it's very unlikely that we would sign you straight
out of your bedroom). What is probably most important though, is that
we get on with you as people. We work very closely with our bands at every
stage of their life with us and if we don't enjoy being around you then
there's little point, this means that you have to be serious about doing
this, co-operative with us and fun to hang around with at gigs.
